Worship

Worship and prayer lie at the heart of everything we do at Keele Chapel.

The Chapel is set up on an ecumenical basis, and we work hard to ensure that, whatever your background – Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Anglican, Pentecostal, Quaker, or none of the above! – you will feel at home and find something for you.

In addition to what’s listed below, some of the Christian groups on campus (like the Christian Union, and Jesus Jam) meet regularly for worship on campus. For more details, visit our groups page.

Sunday

TEN:15 am Sunday Worship (main chapel)

We strive for worship that is lively, reflective, creative and inclusive, fusing elements creatively from different Christian traditions, but centred on the bible and communion.

Children are welcome. Once a month we run Cafe Church in one of the bars on campus, with an informal mixture of worship, discussion, coffee and croissants.

For details of this term’s schedule, see TEN:15 Worship.

12.15 pm – Sung Mass (main chapel)

Roman Catholic Mass is celebrated each week by the Catholic Priest Chaplain according to the modern rite, with a wide range of musical styles, and opportunities to serve and participate.

Non-catholic students and staff are welcome to attend. Coffee is served after the service.

During the vacations, Sunday Mass is usually said at 6 pm in the East Chapel.

7:30pm – The Late Service (east chapel)

The Late Service is a student-run service with an informal lively style and a wide variety of preachers.

Christians from all backgrounds share in the leading and organisation of the Late Service. There are plenty of opportunties to be involved, socialise, and get to know other students. (Term-time only).

Get involved

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in our worship, in music, drama, reading, leading prayers and more. Speak to a Chaplain (or member of the Late Service Planning Committee) to find out more.
